At a young age she discovered she was enthralled with stories and the art of storytelling. She adored all things involving movies, TV shows, books and jokes. She also discovered the aspect of storytelling in music and started writing her own songs in high school.

This enthusiasm for stories led to a pursuit in acting. At the age of twenty she went to New York City to study at the Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She learned there that storytelling was so much deeper than how someone looked on a screen, and it encouraged her to start writing scripts on her own.

She went home to Texas and attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism. Two months after graduating she wrote her first novel, “Zella Curses and Conquerors.”

She hopes to return to New York one day and continue writing, and pursuing a career in entertainment. Whether that be acting, scriptwriting, music, or all the above.

Deborah’s inspiration comes from one source; her faith in Jesus Christ. He is the foundation to all her aspiration, drive, and creativity. “but whoever drinks of the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water  I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4: 14
